About Us

We are an area 501(c)(3)nonprofit organization that was founded in 2014 by refugees, to support their refugee community’s well-being. We prioritize the educational support and the well-being of our community members.

 

Our Mission

Safari Youth Club supports refugee and immigrant youth and their families by providing academic support, sports, and arts opportunities, in addition to assisting families as they integrate into their communities as new Americans..

Programs We Offer

  • After school program from 4pm to 7:30pm (Students)

    • Homework help

    • Sport activities

    • Story teller

    • Hygiene education

    • Mentoring

    • Follow up with students on school progress

    • Help applying to college and post high school opportunities including employment 

  • Family Assistance (Adults)

    • Home visit for the families

    • Translation (Swahili, French, Lingala, Kirundi, Kinyarwanda)

    • Communication with school and teachers

    • Assistance with navigating children’s post high school opportunities and plans

    • Help to apply for assistance (DHHS)

    • Fuel assistance

    • Help applying for citizenship and green card application

    • Driving classes

    • Job search
